bioresins.eu

bioresins.eu is a division of A&O FilmPAC Ltd. and it offers its customers a unique range of biodegradable and compostable resins. bioresins.eu products are sourced exclusively direct from our manufacturing partners in the Far East and are used as replacements for petroleum-based plastics in a wide range of film, sheet, foam, injection and blow moulding applications

Environment Friendly Plastics

Our bio-degradable and compostable plastics are made from cornstarch and degrade naturally to low molecule compounds such as water, biomass and CO2. Plastics made from bioresins.eu products are environmentally friendly and are becoming increasingly popular in a wide range of industries.

bioresins.eu compostable products provide benefits across their entire life-time. The raw materials are 100 percent renewable, which means the cost is not tied to the fluctuating price of unsustainable fossil fuels. Indeed as oil prices go up bioresins.eu products become more competitive. Additionally, processing of bioresins.eu products can be done at lower temperatures further reducing the cost of production at reduced emissions.

bioresins.eu products can substitute traditional petroleum-based resins and are compatible with existing manufacturing processes and equipment. They can be used in all major converting processes such as injection moulding, thermoforming, blow moulding and film extrusion.

Biodegradable or compostable?

Compostable products have to fulfil clear 'compostability' criteria to meet the American standards ASTM 6400 D99 and ASTM 6868 and European Bioplastics DIN CERTCO standard EN 13432.

A lesser grade is biodegradable. This term is used to describe products that, under certain conditions, degrade into small fragments within typically a couple of years. This can to some extent be achieved by additives in conventional plastics. There exists no certification for biodegradable products.

Starch based compostable materials are more expensive and they form a more milky film, so there is a market tendency to offer lower cost biodegradable products as a good 'intermediate solution' until the cost and clarity of starch based compostable materials becomes more competitive.

PLA resins are also compostable and offer a mid price option for a degradable solution with excellent clarity for film, sheet and injection moulded products.

bioresins.eu offers an expanding range of starch based and PLA resins.
Additionally PHA resin output is now available from a new 5000 tonnes per year production facility.

Advantages of bioresins.eu products:
